The Javan Rhinoceros, also known as the Sudna Rhinoceros, was once the most prominent rhino species in Southeast Asia. Its range extended from North Vietnam to East India, parts of China, and clear down to the islands of Java and Sundara. Today, decades after the Vietnam War, the species is confined to a small piece of land located on the western tip of Java island in Indonesia. This particular species is considered to be one of the rarest mammals on earth with an estimation of only 40 members, similar to our leopard friends.
